HURRICANE FIONA'S EYE
, SEEN BY A DRONE CAMERA
Humans now have visual proof of what goes on inside one of Mother Nature's most powerful storms.
Due to a Saildrone that flew inside the eye of Hurricane Fiona, the biggest storm of the Atlantic basin season.
A Saildrone piloted on Thursday captured footage of 50-foot waves
and gusts of over 100 miles per hour, 300 miles southwest of Bermuda.
As the Saildrone crested each wave and descended into a fissure before riding another.
The waves took on the appearance of mountains.
It's like something out of a science fiction movie, only real people can control the equipment from hundreds of kilometres away.
